ProCamera 16.3For this update, we have rolled out a series of fresh new features for you to explore while we gear up for a major release.
You might have multiple versions of a single photo in your camera roll, such as an edited version along with its original. With ProCamera's innovative Share Options menu, you can now share all versions of a photo at once via AirDrop, messenger, mail, and more. Whether you're dealing with a single photo or multiple selected photos, simply long-press the share icon to access the menu where you can select the "All versions" option.
A new supplementary crosshair grid with 45° diagonal lines has been added as a helpful guide for geometric compositions. It seamlessly integrates with our 3D Tiltmeter for optimal precision and exact 45° camera rotation angles.
Corner markings have been added to the viewfinder for improved framing precision, especially in low-light conditions. If you prefer to disable this feature, simply go to Settings > Viewfinder.
Your Settings, Shop, and Support pages now conveniently open as a sheet which you can close with a quick downward swipe. Plus, you can swiftly access Settings from the Capture Screen with a quick upward swipe on the Control Panel icon.
ProCamera 16.2.2With ProRAW format and iOS 16.4, you can now make full use of the powerful 48-megapixel sensor even when zooming. Photos will be captured at the highest resolution without any upscaling. As you zoom from 1x to 2x, the pixel count gradually decreases from 48 MP to 12 MP.
ProCamera has undergone several improvements, such as better support for the iOS zoomed display mode. The Fjorden camera grip no longer goes to sleep when ProCamera is in the foreground. Furthermore, focus peaking and over/under exposure warnings are now active when controlling focus and exposure via the Fjorden Grip wheel.
ProCamera 16.2This major update coincides with the celebration of ProCamera's 14 years on the App Store! As we look forward to many more years to come, we are pleased to bring you some brand new features now. This big update is all about shutter speed in video mode. But we didn’t stop there, and present to you a version packed with useful new features.
Long requested, finally here: our revamped shutter speed and ISO priority mode (SI) is now available in video mode as well! The SI semi-automatic control works faster than ever too, both in photo and low light mode.
Next level manual exposure control for video enthusiasts is here! Now you can choose any shutter speed you want for video recordings, regardless of the output frame rate. Want full control when it comes to shutter speed and frame rate? This update has you covered. Check out our advanced settings section in the app.
We were very pleased to introduce the highly requested quick launcher widget back when iOS 16 was released. Now, we proudly present nifty new widgets for the lock screen that not only allow you to quick launch ProCamera, but also provide you with succinct information about the current moon phase, along with optional sunset/sunrise times so you know exactly when to pack your gear for the next blue hour or full moon photo tour.
Last but not least, we have overhauled our portrait mode capture process and depth blur editing. With the same ease of use depth captures now provide a new level of realism, including foreground blur and an intelligent eyewear detection for improved results when taking portraits of people wearing glasses.
ProCamera 16.1We are taking things a step further with new, professional-grade features for faster, more precise workflows following our overhauled manual controls and the introduction of the manual controls panel. In this update, we have added an especially powerful feature for ProCamera Up members: custom presets in photo and video mode! There are also new features and improvements for all users.
Save your personal camera settings as presets – available for exposure, white balance and focus! Presets allow you to achieve a faster, more consistent workflow. Simply dial in the desired values in the Manual Control Panel, then long press the corresponding button (M/SI, WB, MF) to add and edit presets. ProCamera Up members only.
Your camera settings can now be kept in place. Even after closing ProCamera or restarting your device, your settings can be reapplied on next launch. To enable this new behavior for M and SI mode, go to Settings > Preserve Settings.
The Control Panel has been expanded with a second page containing even more tools. Options on this page allow you to customize which buttons appear on the viewfinder so you can quickly toggle the features you need. The mirroring options and orientation lock, somewhat hidden features before, are now found on page two. The APC option is also here along with a RAW toggle that allows you to conveniently switch between your favorite RAW and non-RAW formats directly on the viewfinder.
Our intervalometer now offers sub-second intervals as well as longer intervals. For short intervals, the ideal capture quality is adjusted automatically to make sure the selected interval between consecutive shots is achieved.
Various improvements have been made across the app, including those related to ProRAW capture and an upgrade to our Code Scanner mode, which can now scan even more codes like Micro QR, etc.
Now optimized for the new iOS 16.

Quick and convenient – The brand new manual controls panel in fully manual M and semi-automatic SI mode provides swift access to all the important manual camera features. The panel is designed to enable one-handed control on the iPhone and on the iPad. Learn more about the details on our blog.
The EB feature which is part of the ProCamera Up membership has now become a dedicated mode which can be selected in the control panel (where you switch from A to M or SI mode).
Now you can see the photo/video file name in our powerful EXIF metadata viewer, accessed via the i-button when viewing a single photo or video.
If there are multiple versions for a photo (e.g. RAW+JPG), you can select one in the EXIF viewer or via version selector in the bottom left corner. New: The version you select will be used for sharing when tapping the share button.
You can now share (Pro)RAW photos processed as JPEG instead of the original DNG files, as well as resize and remove geotags at the same time. Long press the iOS share button in the album to open the share options menu.
We have added a new user-requested settings option for different zoom speeds while filming.
True to our mission to strive for the best camera interface, we completely overhauled our control panel. The new, more easy-to-use SwiftUI-based control panel provides a faster and more convenient way to change settings. But above all, it serves as the basis for great new features – like the innovative Quad-Shot.
Don't miss the decisive moment: With a single tap you can now take four photos in very quick succession. Via control panel, assign the new Quad-Shot to the Secondary Shutter. Once it's activated, you can tap the Secondary Shutter – the smaller button right next to the Main Shutter Button – any time to take a set of four individual images.
A new, user-suggested saving option to only save the original 4:3 photo – no matter which capture aspect ratio you currently have selected. This behavior can be activated via Settings > Edited Version and is especially useful for RAW-only shooters.
Our APC premium feature which automatically corrects perspective distortion is now also available in LowLight camera mode. This combination is especially great for blue hour architecture photography!

This update brings full support for high quality ProRes video capture on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. ProRes is one of the most popular codecs for video professionals who require extensive post-production capabilities. You can choose from four different ProRes formats via Settings > Video Quality > Advanced Settings. The four ProRes formats range from Proxy to HQ and vary in data rate – so you can use the ideal format for your needs.
ProCamera is already optimized for the new iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
On all iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 devices, the standard RAW format is now available on all lenses – including the 0.5x Ultra Wide and the front-facing Selfie lens!
When editing a photo in our Studio, you can now long press the Save button to select from various file type options (HEIC, JPEG, TIFF, PNG). RAW and ProRAW photos can even be saved as brilliant 10bit HEIC files.
Thanks to the new layout, switching camera modes is now even quicker. Pro tip: Long press the mode switch icon to toggle between the first two camera modes in your list.
The main shutter button now displays a progress animation for longer captures.
Various visual tweaks to carefully update the design for iOS 15.
Our convenient new “Stream” mode allows you to share the live video stream of your iPhone camera to other devices like MacBooks or TVs. You can share a clean video feed via HDMI-out or broadcast wirelessly via AirPlay. With some extra adapters, your iPhone can also be turned into a high resolution webcam.
We are excited to offer this new mode as a high-quality video solution for business meetings, yoga classes, online workshops, or video calls with friends and family. Stream mode works fully automatically, yet you have control over focus, white balance and exposure when needed. For best image quality and high dynamic range, the virtual fusion camera is used on multi-lens devices.
ProRAW and RAW captures now support 'instant development' and your edits will be stored as an edited version right after capture.
Great news for ProCamera Up users: our innovative Auto Perspective Correct feature now supports ProRAW and RAW photos. For every available file format you will see the auto-corrected image in real-time in your viewfinder, plus your photos will also be perspective-corrected automatically right after capture.
Editing has been overhauled for ProRAW and RAW photos. Now any changes you apply in one of our editing areas are also visible in the dedicated RAW editing section.
We now offer various colors for Focus Peaking to ensure the best possible contrast for every user. Please contact us if you would like to request another color.
Go extra wide with our new 2:1 and 2.4:1 capture aspect ratios for photos.
Our manual WB tools for capturing and editing provide a color temperature range down to 2000K. If you want to go even lower (down to 1000K) please go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Color Temperature > Extended Range.
The extended range is intended for scientific and artistic purposes like infrared photography.
In Lightbox, we have added a new quick export icon in the toolbar for an even faster workflow.

New over/under exposure warning guide to check for highlight and/or shadow clipping. The striped patterns indicate which areas of the current scene are affected by over-/underexposure. Once activated via Settings > Focus and Exposure, the visual aid is displayed when adjusting the exposure using the dials.
The manual exposure bracketing of our HDR mode now captures up to seven individual exposures to create one brilliant HDR image. Manual exposure bracketing is available via the EB button on the viewfinder. It is available for all bracketing modes except the fully automatic mode (Auto).
Our special LowLight HDR mode now captures up to ten long exposure photos for a vibrant, noise-reduced final image (iPhone 7 and up). Once you own vividHDR and LowLight Plus, the special LowLight HDR feature will be unlocked and can be activated via Control Panel in HDR mode.
LowLight HDR is now available on the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro for all customers that own vividHDR.
The EB feature (ProCamera Up exclusive) is now also available in our LowLight mode. It makes use of the maximum exposure time of your device and limits ISO to a minimum. Naturally, this mode requires the use of a tripod.
Capture (RAW) exposure brackets up to seven f-stops apart to achieve an even higher dynamic range! Additionally, take advantage of the brand new 5/7-photo bracket capture for maximum details (Settings > Exposure Bracketing). The EB feature is available in Photo mode when M/SI is activated (ProCamera Up exclusive).
Delicious new set of handcrafted photo filters to spice up your food photos. Available to all ProCamera Up subscribers.
We have also added two new filters to the Color set. Both are fine-tuned for the iPhone camera and produce bright and vibrant images.
New option to tap anywhere on the Capture Screen to trigger the Second Shutter. To do so, activate this feature via Settings > Full Screen Trigger > Second Shutter. As usual, Self-Timer/ProTimer or Anti-Shake can be assigned to the Second Shutter. Tap the Capture Screen again to stop a running capture series of the ProTimer intervalometer.
Customize the ProCamera app icon on your home screen with one of our fresh new styles (Settings > App Icon).
Our LowLight Plus camera mode can turn night into day – and now it's also available on the iPhone SE (2020).
Our ProTimer intervalometer now allows setting up photo series of up to 10000 consecutive captures and an optional initial delay of up to 60 seconds.
View the depth information of your current scene in real time. Thanks to the new depth preview in Portrait Mode, you can check how the camera "sees" the three-dimensional world around you before taking a photo. This feature is supported on all dual and triple lens devices.
Switch to the front-facing camera to capture amazing selfies with Bokeh depth of field effect. Portrait Mode selfies use the sophisticated TrueDepth camera system to make your face stand out in sharp detail against a beautifully blurred background. Available on all devices with a front-facing TrueDepth camera.
The torch light can be activated by long tapping the flash icon, and on the latest iPhones a fine-grained control has been added so you can adjust the intensity of the continuous light more precisely. This is handy when taking close-up photos of reflective materials.
You can now record videos as long as there is free disk space available. Before, we had to copy the file to Camera Roll, which required extra free disk space. By adopting a new iOS interface to save video, the minimum free disk space requirement has been dropped. A side effect of this improvement is a new file naming convention for video files.
When recording videos to Camera Roll, there needs to be enough free disk space to store the video after recording. If disk space is low, your video will remain inside the app. Once enough disk space is available again, it will automatically be saved to Camera Roll. Rest assured, your recordings are always secure. In case disk space is too low to save a recording, you can find it in Advanced Settings under „Video File Recovery“.
Our dedicated scanner now provides an even smoother auto connect to wifi when scanning access codes, and an option to search for UPC codes on Amazon, Google, and DuckDuckGo.
Now you can capture exposure brackets with adjustable EV values – even in RAW and RAW+JPEG format. A new Exposure Bracketing button (EB) is displayed in Photo mode when M/SI is activated. This pro feature is available for ProCamera Up subscribers only.
However, dear non-Up-customers, this update brings something for everyone:
A free set of evergreen photo filters to give your photos that final touch.
When you take a photo of a document, you can use the new document enhancing filter to automatically optimize the contrast and make it ready for sharing or printing.
Vibrance and Hue tools for color adjustments. And last but not least, we have added new cropping formats: the 3:1 panorama format and 19.5:9 so you can create wallpapers for your new iPhone.
Additional icon style which works great with Dark and Light mode.
We have further improved the nondestructive workflow: when looking at a capture, you can now switch between the original and the edited version.
Customize your home screen: new colorful app icon designs have been added.

In video mode, manual White Balance is available for all frame rates and Rapid Fire mode is really quick again.
A special feature of ProCamera is the ability to capture photos either with the fusion camera, which creates amazing photos by combining the images of more than one lens, or alternatively utilize a single lens with custom camera settings and RAW output.
For general shooting, the fusion camera is a great choice, because it automatically uses the best possible camera settings and combines multiple lenses for an optimized image. For special cases, where you prefer to shoot in RAW format or want to dial in explicit values for exposure time and ISO, single lens mode stands ready.
To activate fusion camera mode, go to the Control Panel and select Auto (A). Select Manual (M/SI) to shoot in single lens mode. Single lens mode is indicated by a white circle around only one zoom factor on the Capture Screen – fusion camera is indicated by a white border around all available zoom factors/lenses.

No more switching – when shooting in manual or semi-automatic SI mode, you now have all manual controls right at your fingertips. With two swipe dials next to one another, entering custom values is more convenient and faster than ever!
Record two videos simultaneously – in our all-new multi-cam Mode, you can use the front and the rear-facing camera at the same time. This is ideal for video bloggers who want to document travels, sports, and events. It allows you to narrate while showing what is happening around you. Tap the Second Trigger to take bothie photo snapshots. The mode is available on the latest iPhones (iPhone XS and up).
On all devices running iOS 13, we were able to further improve the image quality.
In addition to the iOS standard, we now offer two new options to utilize higher bitrates for your video recordings. On average, the new High Quality setting utilizes a 25% higher data rate than the iOS standard (up to 100 Mbit/s). Maximum quality even allows a 50% higher data rate (up to 120 Mbit/s) for professional productions.
Our Tiltmeter is now significantly more precise. We applied what we learned while developing Auto Perspective Correct to greatly improve the tilt angle measurements in all axes. This enables you to compose your photo with minute precision as if you were using bubble levels on a pro level tripod.
We are delighted to have received so much positive feedback on the new non-destructive workflow, and we appreciate the detailed feature requests for fine-grained settings options. You can now customize your Edited Version workflow (Settings > Edited Version). For example, you can save a photo only in your selected aspect ratio without preserving the additional 4:3 image. You can also choose to save edits as a new photo by default.
View Live Photos taken with the native camera app in all their glory directly inside ProCamera. Tap and hold any photo that shows a Live Photo icon to see it in action.
You will now find a tool for inverting a photo in our editing studio, which is very handy for digitizing old black and white film negatives or for producing negatives to be used for analog processes such as cyanotype. No more perspective distortion! The one tap solution for correcting perspective distortion to give your photos a more professional appearance. This groundbreaking technology is part of the all-new ProCamera Up subscription – get it now for a special introductory price!
Even when shooting with an aspect ratio other than 4:3, the full 4:3 sensor image will always be saved. This enables you to change the framing later.
A new action allows you to delete an edited version of a photo and restore the unedited original.
Rangefinder Viewfinder Style – When shooting aspect ratios other than the standard 4:3 format, you still see the full 4:3 sensor image. Go to Settings > Viewfinder to switch back to the old preview without the overlay.

With the introduction of edited versions, ProCamera now offers a non-destructive workflow. Edits don't permanently alter the original photo, which means you can freely apply edits to an image while preserving the original photo. We assume some users will not always want to save the original, therefore we will soon introduce fine-grained settings options based on your feedback.
